Hi! This is Nick, aka Captain Vampire. Thanks for coming to my website! I’m an independent musician in Boston, MA, USA and I make music about history, fiction, birds, and my life as a very busy queer person. I am the #1 lute playing countertenor in the Boston DIY music scene. Captain Vampire started out as sort of a pop punk-emo project in 2019 but pivoted hard into folk punk in 2021 and has proceeded to get progressively weirder ever since. I’ve put out a bunch of music that you can listen to online or buy from my Bandcamp.

When I’m not yelling about pigeons or Dracula in somebody’s basement, you might find me in Boston singing 16th century polyphony, playing in one of my other bands (Ratghost, Connor Storms and His Bouquet, etc,) or teaching guitar and voice lessons. If you’ve got something cool going on, send me an email. info@captvampire.com

FAQ:

What’s that instrument?/How many strings does it have?

If it’s got strings, it’s probably a renaissance lute. The ones I play have either 8 or 10 pairs of strings. Check out the Lute Society of America at https://lutesocietyofamerica.org/ if you want more info on lute stuff. If it’s the thing that looks like an accordion and a tiny piano got busy together, it’s a harmonium.

Are/were you my music teacher? Hiii!!!!!!!

I don’t know, maybe? If your music teacher looks like me and is also named Nick, then you do the math.

Will you send me a link to download your music for free?

Probably, if we’re friends. It’s all on streaming anyway though, which may as well be free.

I’m one of the six people who listened to your first album, and I can’t find it anywhere! Is it still online?

Yes! It’s still on my bandcamp. I took it off streaming because it’s very different from the rest of my music and I don’t really stand by the recording quality of it, but I’m very happy that you liked it. You can download it for free at https://captvampire.bandcamp.com/
